Elvas to Portelegre or Marvao
It was scheduled to be a long and hilly ride. The heat is holding on. We wanted to start early and get some distance before the temps went up.
We ride in loose groups or separately and regroup at tricky parts or turns. I had not heard ahead of time that we were not going to stay at the hotel at the top of the climb and were staying below. The ride was then a little easier except three of us, including me decided to go to the top anyway. We will probably do it again tomorrow. It is great to be on a bike.

The guides have done a great job with food at the lunch. very tasty.
The terrain continues to be dry. We went by some cork oak trees. They use the bark to make natural corks.
