birding day 2
Brazo de el Este
We started at 8 AM and drove somewhere southwest of Seville along some dammed up old branches of the Guadalquivir. It was a day for water fowl. We had 48 species. I was not as rigorous about recording everything, so it may have been higher. There were 12 new birds for me, of which 10 were water birds. The highlight was Ruddy Shelduck which is very rare to non-existent here. There were also Flamingos. We saw hundreds of each glossy Ibis, White Stork, Flamingos and Mallards
It was up to 36C (90f). Bicycling next week is going to be steamy.
