Whitehall to Fort Edward - Following the Waterways: Montreal to Albany - CycleBlaze

Whitehall to Fort Edward

Leisurely breakfast and late start was needed after the previous long day. Finding some hilly back roads out of town brought us to a bike path through the woods abruptly ending and spilling us onto a gravel road.

Arriving in Fort Ann we stopped at the entrance to bike path for lunch.  It was a relief to be off of the roads and following the Champlain Canalway.

Entering Fort Edwards we discovered Evergreen Bicycle Works  on the back of the train station. They do rent city bikes which is a great option if you are traveling by train and want to explore this area. After chatting with one of the owners, he directed us to the Landmark Motor Inn  located on the outskirts of town. We ventured off the trail to get to the motor inn. The pub across the street, Finnegan's, served excellent food with large portions for hungry cyclists!
