Saint Jean dur Richelieu to Plattsburgh
Stopped at a bike shop after breakfast as the brakes on Leo's back wheel were sticking. Friendly folks at the bike shop had it fixed very quickly. Using our Ride with GPS app we cycled the prescribed route until road work caused us to cycle back towards Saint Jean. The road workers would not allow us to go around the edge of the road which we could have easily done.
Rouse's Point is the crossing point into NY state where the Empire State Trail begins. No issues with the border crossing as we ate all our food before crossing. Border patrol folks told us to cycle up to the booth one bike at a time. We stopped just across the border for pics of Lake Champlain. Another very warm day so we sought refuge from the heat at a Stewarts in Chazy. We met many of the locals here as well as the entire boys soccer team from Lake Placid.
No hotels in downtown Plattsburgh so we found ourselves on a busy road headed to the hotels on Route 3. Twisted Carrot restuarant in the downtwon area is an excellent restaurant to refuel after a long day of cycling.
