Chatelaillon-Plage to Marennes: Dedicated cycle route all the way

Today was a real mix of quiet, small roads and cycle paths. The scenery was not that spectacular, but we got from point A to B, almost. We had planned to overnight in Royan, but didn't quite make it. I think we may have took a wrong turn, (surprise), but we saw a real mix of countryside., from small villages, to farmland and marshland. We cycled for at least 30 kms in the forest. In hindsight, we probably should have been on some roads, but it was hard to get across the bridge in Rochefort. We have a nice hotel in Marennes, which is a big oyster farming area. Guess what's for dinner????

Our dog would love to come to breakfast, like the French ones do. After all, she is French!

Ron had a minor crash on this street! All is good!

This is not a path for sissy road bikes!

Lots of people fishing in the canals along the way today.
