My Itinery
Spike Milligan: If you don't have a plan you can't fail
Here is my intended itinerary. Perhaps someone will find it useful? I am sure I am not the first to do it this way, or the last. There is a FB group called Ride The Mawson Trail where I got some (hopefully) great information from several sources. Thanks folks!
The plan is probably over ambitious (for me) but there we go. Dream big and all that. I have all the Heysen Trail huts bookmarked on my Maps.Me map should I need to mix it up along the way and for when my legs give out and I run out of energy drinks :-)
If I do it in 7 days I will be surprised. Actually, if I do it at all I will be very happy and surprised ;-) All I know is I have to be in Parachilna to get on the bus back on Friday 17th @ 7:50am. So, that is 10 days to do it. Will probably need to take a rest day or two somewhere.
I will be sleeping in my tent and cooking my own food as much as possible though. Just because I am a tight-arse and a bit old fashioned like that. I was debating between tent or the huts & bivvy bag thing...
