Bike Repair
The White Mountain Bike Shop in Franconia does not have Sunday hours. I should have called first. An internet search and a few phone calls put me in touch with Dale at REI in North Conway. We drove through Crawford Notch to get to North Conway. New Hampshire and the Presidential Range are quite impressive. I had forgotten how beautiful this part of the state is. A hiking trip may be in order.
Dale and Mike at REI hooked up Betsy with some new spokes, true wheels and a tune-up in record time. Laurie at the restaurant next door, told us about a short hike up Black Cap Mountain with a killer view.
My wonderful partner and her new knee trekked above North Conway. The view was impressive. We drove the Kancamagus Highway back north, another impressive drive. We grabbed a simple, clean, reasonable room at the Four Seasons Motel in Twin Mountain. The pizza at the local pizza joint was pretty good. I was wary because we are far out of the pizza belt. An off day but a good one.
