What’s in those Panniers?
People often ask what is being carried on the bike when they see the loaded panniers.
And I also find that a list or even better, photos, are a good reminder of what to pack next tour.
So that’s what this journal entry is about. It's the inventory of what’s going to be loaded on the bike.
The only things not shown are food, water and a few miscellaneous items such as wallet, Garmin watch, phone and a small ground sheet.
My packing priority is usually:
1. Shelter & Clothing
2. Communication & Navigation
3. Water & Food

Rich FrasierI liked the look of that lock so much that I checked it out. Nice and lightweight! So I bought one. It will be a major upgrade to our current solution. Thanks for posting this!

Graham SmithRich it’s a light, and very strong lock. Nicely designed and manufactured.
It’s also relatively expensive, especially for us over here with a weak currency exchange, but I think it’s worth the insurance of having the bike very secure on the few occasions where there’s no better alternative to having it locked outside.

Bill ShaneyfeltNo cotton wad to swish around inside the tire after a flat to find the offending item without blood sacrifice?

Graham SmithTo Bill ShaneyfeltThanks for tip Bill.
New one to me, and I will pack some cotton wool. The extra weight will be worth it. :)

John StreetThanks for sharing.
You provide lots of excellent information
I'm thinking of putting a similar ride on my ToDo list (but using an e-bike and comfortable accommodation)
