Day 6 - Semi-rest day exploring the Ile de Ré

The Ile de Ré is a fantastic place to ride bikes, so we had planned 2 days here. Unfortunately I started getting sick as we were riding around on the first day. Nonetheless, we were able to enjoy the lovely lanes and bike paths.
There are little oyster shacks that all looked pretty busy. It was a Saturday, after all!
One of our goals was the famous oyster vending machine. I think every town should have one or two of these!
I was fading fast, so we went back to the hotel and crashed. Robin dragged me out later in the evening to look around a bit more.
We bought some oysters at the local farmer's market and bought some cognac to go with it. I was just about able to enjoy a little bit of it before I fell asleep hacking and coughing.
Today's ride: 29 km (18 miles)
Total: 285 km (177 miles)
