Day 5, Titusville to Playa Linda Beach

This is the last ride on our outbound trek. Greg Wilson leaves us after today’s ride. His wife Carolyn is picking him up. Robert Seidler is absent due to a minor medical issue. He’ll rejoin us tomorrow as we head back west. Since it’s a layover day Greg Wilson and I rode lite leaving our bags at home for the day.

Start of the day on our ride to the shore. We rode from our accommodation to downtown Titusville. Gregg wanted to see the water so we did that first.

Bikes are not allowed in the beach road from 6 to 9 AM so we killed some time having breakfast at C’s Waffles. Great breakfast!

We headed over the bridge on the Max Brewer Memorial Parkway. A nice shoulder and pedestrian walkway on both sides

Once over the bridge there’s a bike and pedestrian lane, but that ends quickly and it’s two-lane, no shoulder and 55 MPH. Traffic was light and drivers courteous.

Inside the National Seashore it’s 25mph. At the gate we each had to pay a $15 entry fee. All of us forgot our lifetime passes at home. 🤪

Greg and Gregg dipped their front wheels in the Atlantic.

Greg and Gregg were fascinated by the nude beach sign. We didn’t see any nude sunbathers.

From there a tail wind pushed us back to Titusville.
