Day 4 Strathalbyn to Meningie
The northerly had increased in strength and as we were now travelling eastwards became a cross wind which made riding difficult. After about 50km we arrived at Wellington where we enjoyed a well earned cuppa and a toasted cheese sandwich at the roadhouse.

At Wellington a road race organised by the Adelaide Hills Veterans CC came past, all doing it hard in the wind. We crossed the Murray on a small cable ferry which had a capacity of about ten cars and there was no charge for bikes or cars. We then turned south and had the wind behind us for the 53km run into Meningie which took just under two hours. At Meningie we met a young Frenchman who was touring with a trailer instead of panniers who had just completed the 60km ride from Salt Creek into the northerly. He was completely knackered.
Today's ride: 95 km (59 miles)
Total: 273 km (170 miles)
