Day 13 Apollo Bay toTorquay
The next morning the wind was northerly at last which meant that we now had some shelter as the road runs under a range of hills. However as we crossed each river valley the wind funneled down the valleys and at times turning a corner to ride inland into these valleys was like riding into a brick wall. For the first time on the trip I was able to remove my rain jacket and fleece and ride in my long sleeved cycling jersey. Eventually we reached our destination for the day at Torquay where we were charged $32 for the camp site compared to the $20 to $22 we had been paying for most of the trip.
