Day 10 Portland to Warrnambool

The wind was still southerly but the rain had eased considerably as we left Portland. At Codrington, halfway to Port Fairy we found a roadside store for our morning food break and we continued to Port Fairy for lunch. The wind had eased as we approached Warrnambool but it was Saturday afternoon and someone in a car threw an egg which struck my shoe and splattered on my pannier. Neither of us managed to obtain the rego number of the offending vehicle.
We stayed at a caravan park in town just across the road from a large Safeway/Woolworths where we were able to stock up on food. Delighted to be back in Victoria where free plastic bags are provided at the check out counters of supermarkets.A few rain showers overnight.
Today's ride: 99 km (61 miles)
Total: 825 km (512 miles)
