Day 7. I would never use the drama of receiving a tornado warning in my journal title

Looking at the weather, rain was in store so I decided to do something I’d never done before. Rain was forecast to start at 8:00 and end at noon so instead of riding through the morning I’d ride in the afternoon. If I was right with my preplanning reasoning, I could leave at noon and get to my motel before the evening.

If I time it right with my execution I should miss the precipitation

Not to add to this journal’s drama, but if I was on the road, I could’ve experienced “Wizard of Oz”-like trauma

Just about as I was to exit the hotel, by fate, I met three other riders who were also crossing the state. We all had the same idea to opt to stay in the hotel until the rain stopped.

The old bridge on Lake Monroe I shot with my phone. From the angle though, it looks like I used a drone

One of the interesting sites on the ride I’ve seen is this spring that is predominately green

My mindset today was getting from Point-A to Point-B; I didn’t stop for much except when I had to pee.

I’m not riding to be competitive but rather for the views - this one rather repetitive

The route was straight as an arrow for 20 miles or more with nothing to look at but trees galore.

You know the coast is close to arrive when you passed eastward and travel under I-95.

About 2:45 after I’d begun the clouds parted and out came the sun. I entered New Smyrna Beach and was glad to be out of the monotony of botany. With the wind at my six as I passed over the causeway, I flew down the other side as if it were a raceway.

As I climbed over the south causeway I stopped halfway; and took this picture of the intracoastal waterway.

With the 80s color scheme, some may feel the need to ridicule; but personally, I find the Sea Vista motel old school cool
