Day 7. I would never use the drama of receiving a tornado warning in my journal title
Looking at the weather, rain was in store so I decided to do something I’d never done before. Rain was forecast to start at 8:00 and end at noon so instead of riding through the morning I’d ride in the afternoon. If I was right with my preplanning reasoning, I could leave at noon and get to my motel before the evening.
If I time it right with my execution I should miss the precipitation
Just about as I was to exit the hotel, by fate, I met three other riders who were also crossing the state. We all had the same idea to opt to stay in the hotel until the rain stopped.
The old bridge on Lake Monroe I shot with my phone. From the angle though, it looks like I used a drone
About 2:45 after I’d begun the clouds parted and out came the sun. I entered New Smyrna Beach and was glad to be out of the monotony of botany. With the wind at my six as I passed over the causeway, I flew down the other side as if it were a raceway.
As I climbed over the south causeway I stopped halfway; and took this picture of the intracoastal waterway.
