Day 4. Not sponging off anyone at Tarpon Springs

With a breakfast room in the lobby, I rightly concluded that the breakfast at La Quinta was included. Though this morning’s breakfast was convenient and a breeze there was no protein option, so I settled for a bagel and cream cheese.

See if you can guess which reindeer‘s names I’m missing I give you Dasher and Dancer and Comet and Vixen

Karen PoretPrancer, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen. Of course, Rudolph..but looks like he may just take the Jeep instead of being ahead of the sleigh. ;)

Paul MulveyTo Karen Poret“Rudolph with your nose bright as *bleep* won’t you drive my blue Wrangler jeep?”. Yep. I think that’s the way the song goes 😆

I flew past Elvis passing by in a rush. He slowed me down and said “Thank you, Thank you very much. “

With the morning commuters, I threw myself into the fray, passing over the bay on the causeway. The traffic was frequent and went by me quite fast, and every automobile droned loudly as they passed. Just over a 3 mile ride I found myself on the other side.

Happy to be off of the loud causeway I stopped to catch my breath with a view of the bay

With getting to the start of the coast to coast Trail complete, I start part two of my journey in St Pete. The trail is separated from traffic as it goes through the city. The views are quite nice and rather pretty.

It was short-lived so it may have been cursed, but the airline that started here was the world’s first

As the path winds it way through St Pete’s urban sprawl you get to pass by a piece of the Berlin wall. Constructed by the Soviets, they went all in to keep the population of East Berlin in

Sitting on a saddle for six hours a day seems quite extreme. What’s my secret? Why, chamois cream. With my tube running out and my butt feeling frail, I found a bike shop with the product and it was right on the trail. 50 miles in I stopped at a grocery store because my Clif bars were all gone and I needed some more. I grabbed a handful of napkins at the deli so I could entertain using them to wipe off the lubricant and clean my bicycle chain.

Coming into Dunedin, the trail had a suggestion it said ride slowly there’s a lot of people congestion

The day’s ride ain’t over till the fat lady sings and today she belted her tune in Tarpon Springs. I have a room in an Airbnb. It’s not the full apartment, but it’s perfect for me. The house is for rent and at the risk of sounding cheap $7000 per month I feel is rather steep.

Tarpon Springs is charmingly sleek and the population here is overwhelmingly Greek
