Traverse City to Frankfort

Today we rode from Traverse City where we had rested and camped to Frankfort, Michigan. About 79 miles. Perfect biking weather. The day began on some lovely bike trails and then transitioned to shady roadways through the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. In those moments where we rounded a bend and viewed the lakeshore, it was stunning! Hard to capture in photos. I found a yarn shop in Suttons Bay but only stopped a moment to take in a hit of the yarn and colors. Next door was a bike shop where I picked up a replacement for my rear light. We stopped for lunch break at a Gallery of fine art pottery. Sharing some scenes from yesterdays rest day in Traverse City and the trail today and the Dunes. We’re staying in a lodge tonight. We earned our dinner and our stepping out for an agreeable meal at the Stormcloud in Frankfurt.
