Day 5

Wacky Jackz has restrooms, during a stretch few places to stop. Here, we met the German cyclist traveling the opposite direction.

Mike, his bike, and the mechanical issue.

Lots and lots of riding on hwy US 2. Sunny, mild temps. Just perfect. A little windy at times.

Mike had a mechanical around mile 40. Dave came and got him with the car and took him and his bike to a bike shop in Gladstone. Meanwhile, Stan and Loretta and I proceded to the campsite where we dropped off our stuff and went for Chinese food for lunch. Along the way today, we met a man from Germany who is riding for three months. He started in DC and will end up in Vancouver. And I saw a nest of young Ospreys on the top of a electrical pole.
