Entering Mont St-Michel. The Girl Friday was feeling a little claustrophobic, and so was I.

Looking back on Mont St-Michel from the area that is under water at high tide. You can walk out there at low tide.

These people are finishing up the walk that people would have taken in the "olden days". It takes a couple of hours, one way, and you are required to have a guide because the tides and areas of quicksand can be dangerous.

There were narrow staircases everywhere. In fact one was so narrow (not this one) that one guy (I saw) had to turn around because he could not fit. I decided to skip that one.

The cars lined up during the day, and this doesn't include the tour buses you can't see. Still, about 5pm everyone starts to clear out. By 8pm it was pretty empty by comparison.
