Obidos to Porto Novo
Last cycling day
LToday was our last day of cycling going from Óbidos to Porto Novo. We had 2 options for the ride but we chose the long one so we could get one last view of the ocean out on a peninsula. We rode 69k with 678m/2,270’ of climbing. The weather today was good for riding but overcast and even foggy at times. Fortunately we made it to Peniche on the peninsula before the fog rolled in but once it did we were all convinced this was a place we would not want to live. We passed some interesting rocks not unlike the Punakaki rocks in NZ. We saw more beautiful beaches and many small towns. Porto Novo is nothing more than a cove with a few hotels. We celebrated with a drink at the end of the day. Tomorrow we head back to Lisbon in the afternoon for 3 nights before finally heading home.
