Kayaking and cruising

Before leaving Pinhão we took the opportunity to kayak on part of the Douro and one of its tributaries near the village.  Being here alone I was paired up with a big Aussie male which was perfect for me because I am a very bad kayaker.  Others went on a local port wine tour.  Once back on the ship we set sail for the Spanish border.  The river was very narrow in spots and we had 2 more locks and a low bridge to navigate.  We are docked at another village called Vega de Térron in a very remote area of Portugal.

Today’s programme but the flamenco dancing was postponed until tomorrow

Navigating a low bridge. Those on the upper deck had to sit down and the bridge and mast were lowered.
