Ílhavo to Figuera - our longest day

Today was the longest day of this tour with 70km of cycling. It was also the first day that we actually had a real climb but it was only 3km with a max 7% grade. We started out along the beach and dunes again but then headed inland. We had a long 20km past an area that was devastated by a wild fire in 2018. Fortunately they have replanted so there will be a forest again in the future. After that part we had our climb and descent into Figuera which is the stop for the night. It is a serious holiday beach town.

Our luggage had better transport than we did in a Mercedes sedan.

Our 5* hotel last night. Believe it or not it was only about $250Cdn a night. The spa and pool offerings we so nice I might be tempted to take an extra day here.
