Rest day in Wellington
Today has been a maintenance day for the legs, bike and equipment.
The temperature has soared, and we’ve reached the outer edge of Adelaide well ahead of expected, so it’s a good time for a rest and recuperation before the final 100km into Adelaide CBD.
Accommodation is a comfortable cabin in the caravan park. There are excellent views over the river and ferry crossing from the nearby pub.
By chance we met a young French cycle tourist, Damien Teney at the local store in Wellington. He is riding from Adelaide to Tasmania doing 250km plus days with a very lightweight touring set up. This is his first day of riding on this tour.
He gave me some excellent advice on a way to ride into Adelaide. I will use the route he has suggested.
