From the Murray to the Mallee: Swan Hill to Ouyen
Today was one of my longest days in recent years on a loaded bike. It wasn’t quite an epic day, but almost.
I was exhausted by day’s end.
Huge help from wind was one reason why we achieved the big distance today. Another was a change of plan and direction. A check of the map, a chat with locals in Manangatang, it is apparent that heading west to Ouyen instead of to Mildura made more sense with the time available.
There were catching rural views in the river irrigation areas near Swan Hill, and in the Mallee country toward Ouyen
Accommodation tonight is in the grand Ouyen Victoria Hotel.
