DAY 6 - Edison WA to San Juan Island Westside
Day 6 - after a night sleeping under an eve at the school in Edison I woke to a damp and cloudy morning. The school was a great pick because it rained all night. In was cool too!
With my rain gear on I left early 6:30 ish. Was going to get breakfast but again pedalled on - the threat of rain showers all day.

This route was beautiful with low traffic. The Flats were so cool today, with the mist and clouds. (Dan and I passed through the same area days earlier, and it was much different.)
Saw a bunch of guys in hip waders and carrying nets in the little canal just outside Edison, not sure what they were doing.
Followed Bike 10 signs a lot of the way today to Anacortes. The route included a trestle trail on rail bed that crossed the Sound of inlet. So cool!
Arrived in downtown Anacortes to a street fair - how great that was. I liked that town very nautical and artist (what a combo).

Listened to a guy play keys and talked to a vender who had outstanding metal prints. Some of you may get one in the mail.
After that off to the ferry to San Juan Island. It was a good haul out of town, but a good shoulder. An hour us later wad sitting in Friday Harbor listening to a band.
Thanks to wifey I ended up with a place to camp on the westside at a hiker/biker sit. Wow, is all I can say for this location. Getting out here was like a roller coaster, but scenic.
Sitting right on the water watching the ships sail up the Straits. The sunset is going to be wonderful!
Just saw a seal in the water near shore!

Day 6 ended with a coffee on a small beach and a sunset! Now time to read a little as the waves roll onto the coastline shore!
