Epilogue: Final thoughts: Federal week and Bordeaux, Cahors, Bordeaux
Federal week day 1 to 7 :
Very well organized by FFCT subscription for local accomodation needed no later than January. All offered tracks were nice and safe.
Going to Cahors:
Going from B&B or hotels is more comfortable than camping. Energy is only focussed on tour biking, allowing more things to see and appreciate. On the other hand, more money is spent, around 70 euros per day. Good thing to have breakfast included into the price of the room. A light meal at noon is sufficient. In France B&B do not accept Credit cards. They only take cash or french bank checks.
Most appreciated tracks by order of preference were :
Number 1 : day 10 : Lateral canal to the Garonne
Number 2 : day 18 : Cycle path Roger Lapébie
Number 3 : day 15 & 16: Goujounac to Monpazier to Miramont
Track from Day 14 : Leaving Cahors was hard and stressful because of traffic, though we were lucky to have done it on week end because there was no truck. I would not recommend it.
We appreciated the diversity of country side, accommodation.
Weather was perfect, usually this part of France is very dry & hot during summer. This year was no more than +26°C and rain only during the night while we were sleeping.
