Dijon to Pouilly: A day on the Canal de Bourgogne

We loved Dijon but are eager to get back on our bikes. The obvious route from Dijon to Pouilly is along the Canal de Bourgogne. But I am apprehensive if on a sunny Sunday there might not be hordes of cyclists and walkers on this popular route. The first few kilometers out confirmed my fears, but soon we were out of reach of the weekend warriors and had the path to ourselves. The five of us traveled at our own paces, taking breaks and pictures or speeding ahead, playing leap frog and always converging again somewhere along the line for some more pictures of each other and a chat.

Leaving our hotel - nobody forgot anything? Got your cameras, keys, helmets, glasses?

We all know that Scott had been hoping that Susan and I would lessen his burden of reporting on the daily rides. But since Susan is doing such a good job and Scott continues to post ride descriptions anyway, I think I might be the one to cop out. In other words, this is going to basically be a picture dump. It was a great day of riding, what else is there to say that hasn't been said before.

Steve Miller/GrampiesSometimes it seems like this is daily relaxation. One has to wonder though, do they ever really catch anything?
