Panama City Beach, FL
I got fairly close to the epicenter of the hurricane today. But I saw remarkably little damage: Some wooden fences that got blown over, some signs that got damaged and a few uprooted trees.
More noticable was the way businesses operated: The largest mobile network (Verizon) was "dead" because they where dedicated to emergency services. Walmart closed early and didn't want anyone to linger in front of their store at anytime. Only one McDonald's was open and they only allowed drive thru customers. Tap water is not safe to drink, so the Red Cross is handing out free water.
I found a volunteer job with the Salvation Army packing meals.
Today's ride: 96 km (60 miles)
Total: 9,547 km (5,929 miles)
