We left Duras for the iconic Saint Emilion today.  The weather forecast was not good so we were loaded down with rain gear but we only had to wear it for a few minutes.  Today was the hilliest of them all in the Bordeaux region so those not on e-bikes worked hard today.  It was another day through very small quiet towns and vineyards but the scenery was lovely.  We crossed the Dordogne River about 6km before Saint Emilion.  We finally came across a vineyard where we could have a dégustation (tasting), so we did.  Once in Saint Emilion it was a bit of scavenger hunt to find our various accommodations but we did in the end.  It is Saturday so the village was crawling with day visitors but quieted down in the evening.  There are wine shops galore here so we won’t go short of wine.

Patti riding past a church in one of the small villages through which we rode.

We finally found a place to have a tasting in our travels and this is the proprietor. He is the 5th generation managing the vineyard.
