We left Langon for Duras this AM about 9:30. As usual there were a few glitches getting out of town and onto the main route, nonetheless we found it, and off we went. We had a lovely ride through the back roads of Bordeaux with very few cars. Most of the villages were very small so we were forewarned to bring picnic stuff from Langon, so we did. The terrain was rolling but with some steep hills
of 10-13%. Patti and Maureen were amazing as usual making the climbs without motors. But I have to say that even though I had a motor I still managed to raise my heart rate to 154 on the hills because I did not use full power and the bike weighs 50lbs. We are now in Duras a medieval village, which means it is on the top of a hill. It has very interesting castle dating back to 1305. What was going on in Canada in 1305?
A dinner of duck was included tonight. Between the food and some lovely Bordeaux wines we are happy.
