Tour postponed due to another back surgery

April 18, 2025: I herniated another disc in my lower back a month ago, and saw my surgeon this morning. He scheduled surgery four days from now. So that's the end of bike riding or bike touring for several months.

Jeff LeeTo Bill ShaneyfeltThanks, Bill. As far as physical therapy goes, there really isn't any after this kind of surgery, at least in my experience the first time I had it. What's basically required is not doing anything that could cause it to be-herniated - unfortunately for three long months, which means very little of the physical activities that interest me.

Jeff LeeTo Karen PoretThanks, Karen. Unfortunately I've already gained several pounds since I hurt the back a month ago, so I'll have to careful not to overdue it with the Boston cream pie :)

Jeff LeeTo Bob DistelbergThanks Bob. Maybe I can do something in the late summer/early fall. Probably not the Canada trip, though, since it will start cooling down pretty quickly up there, I assume

Tim McNamaraJeff, so sorry to hear this. And, having some back trouble myself, ouch! I hope your surgery goes great, that recovery is smooth and that you're comfortable and able to resume your normal life soon.
