Water's a Commodity

First, mostly I'm not using single-use plastic, rather I'm finding free, filtered water (coolers, fitness centers in motels, etc.).  But potable water is a commodity.  The camelbak and 40oz. bottle can get me about 60 miles in heat, then I get thirsty.  A couple of times, strangers have helped me out, Emily and Cheryl and the Millers, for example.

I remember when water was free, then there were those commercials with the guys hiking in the woods and drinking from a stream, and one says, "Hey this is great water, we somebody could bottle this and sell it." Then there were decades of drought in the southwest, Flint, Michigan, currently Mexico City.

Anyway, when you're cycling cross country in the summer, you appreciate water even more.  Basic needs should be basic rights--not commodoties.
