Day 116-118: Mchinji to Lilongwe
This includes a couple of days being hosted by the wonderful Jeremy and Liz in Lilongwe (met via the WarmShowers website). We didn’t see a lot of the capital of Malawi while we were there – more the inside of the supermarket and the hospital. Visiting the supermarket is more-or-less self-explanatory – hospital was because Cath needed confirmation that the painful eye she had for a few days was nothing to worry about (it was and has settled down now).

It was great to hang out with Jeremy and Liz – you can learn a lot about a new country by talking to expats who’ve lived here for almost a decade. And we also learnt a lot about how Trump’s orders to temporarily cancel all aid projects result in a huge ripple effect across the world.
We almost had another trip back to the hospital. Cath's bike tried it's best to throw her under a car when we were negotiating another heavy downpour on the way back from the supermarket.
The wet season rain seems to have really set in. The forecast suggests it'll be basically constant for the next week or two. Oh joy.
Today's ride: 98 km (61 miles)
Total: 6,044 km (3,753 miles)
