León down
Day 11 - rest day León
Rest is an important part of exercise, especially at the beginning of a cycle tour. When we left we had done a few weeks of training and were feeling alright about it, but nothing can compare to getting a heavy bike and a heavy rider up a couple thousand metres of hill.
So, feeling pretty good but tired, we spent most of our rest day resting and trying to eat some vegetables and protein, which are harder to manage on-bike.
We did go for a few walks around the city, which is vibrant and bustling, with a cool layout and lots of pedestrian ways and zebra crossings. It's also clear that it's been a city for a long time, and I tried to capture some of the variety of architecture - from the ancient to the medieval to the modern, with some definite weird thrown in.
Unfortunately it's pretty gloomy and been raining, not great for photos.

Tomorrow we head out towards Sahagún. We might give wild camping a shot - if we can't do it on the camino, what chances do we have anywhere else? It's not something I've done a lot of, though I have found it fairly easy and good fun when I have. Just got to get my head in the game! Wish us luck!
