Day 89 - Herceg Novi to Budva
Day 90 - rest (beach) day Budva
Day 91 - Budva to Shiroka (Albania)
Some pictures from Dubrovnik are in here somehow, sorry. Also they are in reverse chronological order again, no idea why that's started happening!

Montenegro has really impressed us! Helped from not knowing anything about it, I guess. When you have no expectations and it's really nice, it's doubly nice! Every 5 minutes you see another beautiful beach, or an impressive cliff, or a great ocean vista. The worst thing about it is the drivers: worst in Europe so far I would say.
We stopped in Budva for the day to go to the beach. Sarah has been keen to do it for days now, since Croatia, and even I could see the appeal of going down to spend some time on the white shore, next to the incredible gleaming turquoise water.
While Budva is quite highly recommended as a beach town, after seeing what comes before and after it, I'm not sure why. It has a beautiful old town, and a cool island that we took a boat out to see, but old towns aren't beaches and the island was a bit of a disappointment, having not much but a couple of rocky stretches of shore. We did have one of these to ourselves for an hour though, one of the benefits of coming in low season. Who wants to come when it's 35 Celsius with hordes of tourists everywhere you look??
After Budva we set out for a big day: nearly 90km with 1000 metres up. After taking extra care to stop for sufficient snacks and sugary drinks (including being appalled at the 13.2g per 100ml in a green "exotic" Fanta) we made it easily. No calamities, not much stress, none of that crazed will we ever get there feeling that sometimes crops up when energy is low.
Albania! Or Shqipëria as they call it, didn't yknow. Our plan now is to head towards Tirana, probably not into it, then down the coast and maybe a sneaky ferry to Corfu! Wow, Greece seems pretty close already. Greece is big though, and spread out over some seas. If anyone has any tips for a route through Greece and ferries to Turkey, please let me know!
Today's ride: 131 km (81 miles)
Total: 3,317 km (2,060 miles)
