The Sun is Shining in the Alps

Werfen, Austria to Freilassing, Germany

As the pictures will show, we are enraptured by the Alpe Adria cycling route and the spectacular areas we are riding through. Typically, the routing is on a good surface, most often dedicated to cycling and supported with a good infrastructure. Each day, we are in awe of where we are and the opportunities we are given to appreciate it. We can see why this route has been voted a top cycling route in Europe.

The weather is starting to clear and the views are spectacular

As you can see, it is a stunning day to be riding in the mountains.

A few kilometres out of Werfen we had to ride through a narrow gorge.

They were doing construction in one of the tunnels in the gorge.

Cows are everywhere in this area....even in your own front yard

Well, this was fun. This intrepid squirrel was busy stashing treasures for later. We were eating our lunch and watched him carefully hide an apple by our trailer tire. I am sure he was disappointed and surprised when we left with our trailer and his apple was exposed.

We are almost in Salzburg, which is exciting but bittersweet, as we are soon nearing the end of our journey.

We loved being able to ride under this busy bridge on a cycling dedicated area.
