New Gear for This Trip

This year we have decided to bring along our camping gear. This will help to keep costs down but mainly we love camping. Our goal is to keep the weight down for our camping gear. On other trips we have brought our Trangia 25 cook kit. The Trangia weighs upwards of two pounds. This year we bought a titanium clikstand and Evernew Ultrlight titanium 1.3 litre cook pot. The new cook kit weighs a fraction of the heavier Trangia set. The clikstand uses the Trangia burner . We are very happy with the set up as we can continue to use the no fuss alcohol cooking style.

Our new Clikstand cooking setup is simple to use and ultralight and the Evernew titanium pot will be an asset as well.

This year we are taking the Aeropress coffee maker. lt makes excellent coffee and is fairly lightweight

On previous trips and especially in Italy we have had to battle mosquitoes. This year we have Craghopper and Ex-officio anti-bug clothing and the Thermacell Backpacker which repels mosquitoes by creating a 15 x 15-foot zone of protection.
