Rest Day in Denali National Park: our 12th wedding anniversary
Yesterday was a long day in a bus, so we decide we need a "real" rest day. Plus, today is our 12th wedding anniversary and we want to be in a memorable place. So, we stay put for another day.
After sleeping in, we go for coffee at the mercantile and then a short hike along Meadow View Trail and back to the visitor center where we eat lunch in the cafeteria. Then another short hike to Horseshoe Lake.
On the way we see a panorama of the lake and maybe a moose is feeding in it? We rush down but cannot spot the animal, but on our way back it is near the trail, so we do get a good look.
We shower, have some wine and ride our bikes back to Glitter Gulch to have dinner at the Salmon Bake restaurant to celebrate our anniversary.
