Rest day in Canmore: town pictures today, planning route for home
It's nice to have a rest day. For breakfast we go to MacDonald's for an egg-sausage McMuffin meal. Patrick wants to check for a map of Alberta, so we return to the visitors information center. We figure it will take 3 days to do the back gravel road Smith-Darrian Highway to Kananaskis Country. Initially there will be a steep climb, we can see the road from the campground.
It doesn't look worse than some of the roads we were on in China-Tibet... Guess we will find out tomorrow.
The library doesn't open until 11am, so back at camp we talk with neighbors. A family of 5 from Wales looking for a place to immigrate. We eat a sandwich then head to the library. We check email, picasaweb, Nathan has posted another 190+ photos, but we are unable to access them. Rachel sends out a bulk email to folks in Boise about our return home. The plan is to be in Missoula around Sept 20th-27th. Then Kirkham hot springs Oct 4th, Idaho City Oct 5th and home to Boise Oct 6th.
We wander around town, eat ice cream then shop at Safeway for our supplies for the next stretch. We want to have pizza for dinner, but the restaurant is closed for a private function.
So, we settle for Chinese next door.
