Rest Day at Mr. Robson: Day ride and hike
When Rachel in 1993 was camped South of Adelaide Australia near the coast, she remembers in the middle of the night going to the bathroom hearing crunching noises beneath her feet. As much as she didn't want to know what it was, she looked to see snails everywhere.
This morning outside the tent, slugs waited for us. We hope none got inside the tent.
Typical rest day, we cycle almost 20km round trip and hike 8km up on the Berg Lake Trail. We cycled from camp through the parking area for the trail, about 3km. Then up the trail 4km to the South Kinney Lake, then another 3 km to where we left the bikes.
The trail is nice, steep in a section or two, followes the stream. We have nice views of the peak of Mt. Robson. The water is glacial blue. On the way back to camp, we stop at the convenience store for coke and juice. We had left at 930am got to the falls at 1230, ate lunch beside the stream and started back at 1pm returning in only 2 hours.
Then we rested. After all this is a rest day.
