In Morlaix: a hike to the north

How nice it is to be back in France!  Morlaix looked like a great place to hike so off I go while Scott goes for a ride!  The weather report was for some scattered showers so I wasn’t sure how far I’d go before turning back but I ended up doing 14 miles and 1300 ft of climbing.  It doesn’t take long before I’m out of town walking through a beautiful forest.

Just off the forest trail, I come to the grounds of the Château de Keranroux.  The chateau is closed but there is a park surrounding it with a waterfall, chapel, pond, forest, dovecote, wash house and ruins of a chapel.  It was amazing!  Below are some photos of the area.

Does anybody know what this is?

Janos KerteszEs ist ein colombier oder pigeonnier, ein Taubenturm. Früher gehörten die Tauben im ländlichen Frankreich zu den wichtigen Nahrungsmitteln.
