feb 12- Thung Wua Lan to Chumphon

After the recreation day, today there is a 13k time trial on the agenda. Not for me as I already got picket up by the sweeper bus.
Strangely after the 20 k I felt almost samesame as after the 77k on Saturday. It is all in your head.
I book into Euro Boutique Hotel as I did two years before. It costs whether a bundle of Euros nor is there anything “Boutique”. A clean, non nonsense room with all amenities like a fridge, spacious bath, balcony, aircon, flat screen TV, two windows and coffee for breakfast.
Before it is time for dinner I give the local bike store a visit and have a beer in the most depressing place of Chumphon- the Farang Bar.
If you are Thai-ed out foodwise and do not want to blunder into the Steak or Pizza Trap, then look out for a Vietnamese Restaurant. Similar but far less spicy with a French touch. In Chumphon “Green Kitchen” ,located opposite of Nana Hotel, is the place to give a visit.
Tomorrow I will ride from the East Coast to the Andaman Sea, from sunrises to sunsets.

Nach dem gestrigen Ruhetag steht heute ein vorentscheidendes Einzelzeitfahren nach Chumphon an. Nicht fuer mich, da ich ja bereits Beute des Besenwagens geworden bin.

Seltsam, nach den heutigen zwanzig Kilometern bin ich in naemlicher Verfassung beim Hotel eingerollt wie vorgestern nach 77. Ist halt alles irgendwo eine Kopfsache.

Wiederum das Euro Boutique Hotel, das weder viele Euro kostet noch durch Boutiqueambiente verstoert. 590,- Baht, Zimmer ohne GschistiGschasti, dafuer mit Lift, Balkon, Klima, Eiskasten, grosszuegigem Bad, zwei Fenstern uebers Eck und Fruehstueck.

Kurzer nachmittaeglicher Besuch des schicken Fahrradladens und der an Tristesse kaum zu ueberbietender Farang Bar, so bring ich die Zeit herum, bis es soweit ist, das Dinner im Green Kitchen in Angriff zu nehmen. Wenn man einmal Abstand nehmen moechte von der Thai Kueche, bleibt nicht nur der Inder und die Pizzafalle als Ausweg. Wenn man das Glueck hat, auf ein vietnamesisches Restaurant zu treffen, sollte man auf jeden Fall die Gelegenheit nutzen, sich an der eleganten, zurueckhaltenden Kochkunst zu erfreuen.

Morgen weiter an die Kueste der Sonnenuntergaenge.

Empty beach at monday morning. The Chumphonians are back to work and the Farangs are in bed with an awful hangover.-------- Leerer Strand, Montag am Vormittag. Die Chumphonen sind bei der Arbeit in Chumphon und die Farangen kurieren ihren Wochenendrausch aus.

A bit more than one hour takes me twenty kilometers further to Chumphon Railway Station.-----------Etwas ueber eine Stunde und 20 Kilometer spaeter und weiter- Hauptbahnhof Chumphon.
