To Macon
The wind has gone
While we were eating last night I was scoring the various weather aps to find me one that gave me information that pleased me. I failed. They all said that it would start raining during the night and continue into the morning. YR was about the best it said it would stop raining sometime after 11. Eleven was our check out time we would stay put until then.
In the morning the news was the same. We went and had a rather bigger breakfast than usual then at 11 donned our raincoats and braved the weather. It was down the hill and onto the Voie Bleu beside the river. Yes the aps were right it was raining and everything that had looked so bright and shiny yesterday looked a little bedraggled The very good news was that the head wind that has been plaguing us for the last several days had dropped and it was almost still. Yesterday there were lots of cyclists along the route but today the only ones we saw were like us on a tour and needing to get to the next place. I felt sorry for those with camping gear and really glad that now we always have a warm dry place at the end of the day
Around 11.45 the rain stopped but it was to remain cloudy. The land around us was agricultural. The maize looked much better than it had near Paris - we didn’t know whether it was because 2 weeks had passed or because we were further south.

We had ridden fast with few stops so on we went searching lunch. we weren’t particularly successful and settled for a somewhat dodgy pizza. Of course we have seen great places since. The hotel has a big room, lots of power points and a assessable shower
Today's ride: 37 km (23 miles)
Total: 532 km (330 miles)
