What to expect from this journal? And why on earth would you ride 4000 km!?
Honesty.
I'll try my best to keep it real. Nobody wants to read about how every minute of every day is pure awesomeness. I'll try and keep things balanced. We had a few trying times on the Divide. We were cold. We were tired. I had a few mini tantrums where I punched my bags when my hands weren't working because they were so cold.

Peter had a couple days where he felt terrible in the middle of the desert. We slept in an outhouse to avoid a snowstorm. And we had to do a major re-route to avoid a fire section.
But, what's a trip without some adversity?
I'll do my best to take photos. Maybe not as many of your protagonist because I'll be riding solo. Perhaps I'll master the selfie. Finally.
Why?
The Great Divide ride opened my mind to what's possible both for my body and my mind. I want to enjoy my body while it's functioning at a high level where I can take on something this ambitious.
Is it really ambitious? I guess that's a question of who you ask.
Individually each day isn't a leap for me physically but stacking them up and adding the logistics makes for a good challenge.
This will be my most significant solo trip ever. So, there's that as well. I'm looking forward to pushing myself and meeting a lot of new people along the way as well.
