Day 6: Grazalema
We took another layover day off the bikes in the to take a hike into the sierra within the national park that protects the high ground here. After filling up on the buffet breakfast at our hotel we provisioned ourselves at the store for the hike ahead: four pears, 2 apples, cheese, bread, 3 liters of water - before starting off on a five hour, twelve kilometer hike into very remote, rugged country.

The route was well but often primatively marked by gargoyle-shaped slabs of stone wedged upright between the rocks. It was another 95 to 100 degree day but much of the route was amongst the trees that offered regular relief from the sun.
We enjoyed a great dinner at the end of the day, seated outdoors at a table overlooking the countryside, near the cliffs defining the southern edge of the village.
