Day 38 - Whipholt / Casino
Day 38 - woke up with a nice Gilbert Mansion Breakfast. - thank you Kristy.
Was on the road later than normal - 9 am. The route was suppose to be 53 miles flat. Well, Ride with GPS picked a gravel road as a short cut right after I stopped at Jerry's Bar (mile 35).
I saw nothing most of the trip - cars or nor people. The road was scenic though. When I saw the small blue sign saying Jerry's Bar 5.5, I was in. The place was so welcoming everyone wanted to chat about my trip. They made me feel so welcome
Back to the gravel road, I didn't feel comfy with it so I found out that would add a good chunk of miles and time. Oh well!
I arrived at the campground / resort and the gentleman working outside said, "We are closed for the season.". He eventually gave me an 8-mile lift to the Northern Lights Casino. I got a room and feel good. Tomorrow I'll be on route again Viking 5.
