Active Rest Day

Wallaroo to Cowell (by Ferry and Bike)

From the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia there are a few route choices to Ceduna and the beginning of the long haul west across The Nullarbor. We could head up the A1 to Port Augusta. We could find some backroads to Port Augusta. Or we could use the recently revived Wallaroo to Lucky Bay ferry service, then wind our way across and up the Eyre Peninsula to Ceduna.

We chose the ferry option. It seems like the safest and most interesting way even though it means we aren’t technically cycling all the way to Perth. It won’t make much difference to the total ride distance but it will mean less time on the busiest part of the A1 highway.
