Day 25 was rolling hills for 60+ miles, ending just across the Oklahoma border in the small town of Erick, OK.

We were concerned about the east wind (which seems to get stronger as the day goes on) so we had an early 8a start.

This mural was in a I-40 rest area. Well done.

We had a great lunch stop in this old Conoco gas station in Shamrock, TX. One of many art deco buildings built along RT 66 in the 1930s.

This funky stop was right outside Erick, OK. Evidently they get many long distance bike riders, many from Europe and usually a bit later in the year.

The 100th Meridian is the symbolic border between the semi-arid West and the humid continental climate of the Eastern United States. It is roughly 100 longitude degrees west of Greenwich, England.

Roger Miller grew up outside of Erick, OK, on a family farm, dreaming of a different life. He is best known for the song ‘King of the Road’.

As we rode into town we could not pass up the opportunity to stare down a couple of longhorn steers.
