Sam Roi Yot
Yesterday we stepped out of character, planning and booking a whole week ahead. Of course, this was only going to tempt fate.
Our plans were based on the availability of accomodation at Maka Nature Lodge near Kaeng Krachan National Park. We had stayed there five years ago and it is a great birding destination. It is one of the reasons we have come down to the peninsula. The other is to have a few days of beach holiday to compensate for the change of plans at the start of the trip caused by Typhoon Yagi. We were hoping that our time at Maka Nature Lodge would be in the last week of this trip but the only booking we could get was two nights next week. So we decided to fill the time until then with three nights at a nice looking resort near the beach at Sam Roi Yot, seventy odd kilometers south of Cha Am.
To cut a long story short, Leigh spent a great deal of last night on and over the toilet bowl. Neither of us got much sleep and Leigh was very fragile this morning and also for the rest of the day.

Despite feeling like death warmed up, Leigh managed a good pace for most of the day. Fortunately we had a tailwind and only one small climb so it wasn't too tough a ride. Apart from thirty kilometers on the busy Highway 4 between Cha Am and Hua Hin we were either on cycle paths or quiet roads.
In Hua Hin we stopped to book a car to get us to Maka Nature Lodge next week. One of Leigh's conditions was that we wouldn't have to cycle there.

On our arrival in Sam Roi Yot Leigh went straight to bed while I cycled off to the village about five kilometers away to buy yogurt for her stomach and beers for mine.
Hopefully she will be better in the morning.
Today's ride: 84 km (52 miles)
Total: 2,457 km (1,526 miles)
