Putignano loop

Today was a loop ride down to the Adriatic, along the coast for a bit and then back up to Putignano. If you look at the profile you will understand the down an up connotation. In both directions we had some seriously rough dirt roads and on the way back some very steep hills of 14-17%. We had a visit to an oil grove where the harvest was in full swing so we saw some fellows harvesting olives and then watched the olive oil making process. We passed through the seaside towns of Monopoli and j a Mare before heading back to our hotel. One of the disadvantages of travelling in November is the short days after the time change. We finished today about 3:15pm and that was late enough because by 4 the sun is very low in the sky.

Today’s route and profile, it looks easier than it was. Got to love the e-bike.

There is also a carnival in this town that is supposedly the oldest in Italy even older than Venice.

My pizza which was a Margarita Gina so red and yellow cherry tomatoes with olives and buffalo mozzarella.
