Oct 8 - Yelm Rainier Tenino Trail

We woke this morning to cloudy skie, blowing mist, and a very wet ground. What to do? We don’t like riding in the rain, we don’t like riding in the blowing mist … so, eat breakfast, pack up and drive to where the weather is better. Away from the coast …
So we set our sights on the Yelm Rainier Tenino Trail that was a few hours away. We drove through the rain and mist until we finally turned east, inland. The weather at that point was much more to our liking with mostly / partially cloudy skies but most importantly, no rain.
The trail was a joy to ride, 8-10 feet wide, smooth, and we saw a total of 7 other cyclists between Yelm and Tenino. The grade, maybe 1%, was almost not noticeable and we simply enjoyed the riding.
The miles actually passed fairly quickly even with our poking along taking pictures and we decided we would ride a little of this same trail tomorrow but also take the Western Chehalis Trail north.
Our trip is quickly coming to an end … we only have 2-3 more rides before heading back to Alaska and SNOW!
Today's ride: 28 miles (45 km)
Total: 8,481 miles (13,649 km)
